This was once a 5 star app for me, but it has changed so much since I started using it, that it's almost unrecognizable now. Gone are the features I cared about (listings by show/program, with many past episodes, the live feed from NHK-World, the language lessons, etc.) and in their place is a disorganized and difficult to navigate mess of articles and clips. Yes, most of the content I'm looking for can be found on their website, but it's not as good or as convenient as the app was before. Sad!

First off, unlike many apps, this one actually works and does what it says it does. Secondly, the programming is terrific, and there are no stupid restrictions on viewing. Not all programs are available "on-demand", but most are. Good perspective on news you won't get off U.S. stations, cooking shows, Sumo highlights, and general introduction to Japanese language and culture. I'll say it again, terrific.

Awesome app to use! However, it is missing at least 1 important aspect, a major issue that keeps it from getting 5 stars... The major issue is does not have Japanese as a option for languages. Why? What if I want to immerse myself in the Japanese language and learn the specifics. What about the lesson section? It is more of a output method to approaching Japanese but helps more after the immersion (aka input method) process that the app itself lacks. Other issues is unable to turn off captions.
