Great game and very stimulating. However, the levels of the game don't always feel very consistent in terms of difficulty and often far from it. For example, level one may often feel like let's say level two or above in terms of difficulty and level two may often feel like level three or above in terms of difficulty, especially after you just won a game and choose to play again like right away or even after waiting a while sometimes. Practice level need options like practice for each level.

The strength of the levels was graded by a very large all-play-all tournament of all levels for some 50,000 games, which showed an even step between each level. This, of course, might not exactly match the result of playing against human opponents, but none-the-less showed a reasonable stepping of strength between levels.

It's chess. I mean how do you mess that up. Popups that only happens before a game starts. Sometimes I need to play something that takes brains not fast reflexes &/or good aim. Update - this app is spying on you! No joke, one of the ads I've been seeing pop up is some shopping app. The goto suggestion was electric bicycles & scooters. I happened to ask a person jokingly where I could find an old-school wristwatch, guess what popped up next time I hopped on. FYI ads make me avoid those products😑

Our app is not spying on you! Google and ad networks may be putting together information from your phone. In device Settings > Google > All services > Ads > Delete advertising ID to see ads which are less personalised. You can also check Settings > Apps > 3 vertical dots > Permissions manager to control microphone access for other apps

Left a review years ago and am updating. App is still okay, and they did add online multi-player (although I don't use it) but man the ads are so intrusive. plus some of the ads that seem to trick you into thinking you are skipping or X-ing out, and it takes you to the download page on Google play. overall: fine app but the ads have gotten terrible.

Apologies about the ads but we cannot control their behaviour and we have fewer ads than most free apps. These new ads drop you into Google Play and you can immediately hit the back key to return. Ads pay for the development of the apps and a one-off purchase of the Pro version gives you a lifetime ad-free for about the cost of a cup of coffee.
